If you were to do an image search for the term "redwall" what would you expect to find? Probably a wall that is the shade of red, right? What you would find instead, is Brian Jacques complete life's work. Go ahead try it, I'll wait. Back? Not what you expected is it? The book Redwall is so loved that if you don't know about it already you're either too young or should set yourself aflame. Redwall is the analogue of a good fantasy novel, all the elements are there. Good characterization, a well developed setting, the heroes journey, and tons of back story. So much so, that Brian has spent his days filling in the blanks, he'll have one of his characters offhandedly mention some thing that happened, and he'll write a book on that thing that happened. Be warned, that if you choose to read all the Redwall books there is a lot of them. There is also a movie and a series both animated, a stage play based on Redwall. The fan stuff, oh my the fan stuff, there is a lot of fan stuff. A least give the original a try.
