Katawa Shoujo

All of my feels...... This. Game. Made. Me. Cry. Openly! I'm not afraid to admit that, this game made me cry. I'm not talking about manly tears either. I had to stop playing, get up, and go have my cry before coming back to play. That's how well written this is. I know most of you have heard that this is a porn game, it is not! The sex is there, but is not the ultimate objective. When sex happens the game doesn't just stop, it continues on and deals with it, sometimes happily, sometimes angrily. Enough about intercorse, on to the game. Katawa Shoujo when translated to English means "Cripple Girl". While I will admit that is the worst tittle for a game, the katawa can also be translated to "disability" and the Shoujo can also be translated to "with girl", so the tittle can also be read as "Disability With Girl", or to make it more grammatically correct and to fit within the context of the game can be read as "Girls With Disabilities". Katawa Shoujo only refers to the girls at the start of the game not a at the end, in my opinion, because by the end they've come to grips with it along with you the PC (Player Character) about being katawa. Thats right the main character, you, is also katawa, recently so. The girls that Hisao (the PC) dates are not fragile dolls to be protected, they are strong people. So much so that it would not be an exaggeration to say that they help Hisao out more than he helps them, and if you treat them that way you will get a bad end or game over. These are characters written to be real people, so well written in fact that when I finished the game with the first girl and restarted the game aiming for another one, I felt guilty about it! This game is free, give it a try, you'll lose, if you don't like it, some time and if you do you might gain something more.
