2001: A Space Odyssey

If you clam to be an science fiction fan and you haven't seen this then you are no true fan, because this is the science fiction movie of an entire era of film. It's also one of the few movies adapted to a book that stays true to the source material in a way that is almost beautiful. That's right, in this case, the book came after the movie. The book was written by Arthur C. Clarke, and he also co-wrote the screenplay of 2001: a Space Odyssey along with Stanley Kuberick, who also Directed the movie. It's use of minimalist speech makes the most of the movie, shown instead of told to you. Because of this, the 160min run time feels longer. As I typed earlier, the story relies on visuals to tell the story, well the music helps in that as well, don't believe me? Check out the opening for your self. Despite this being 34 years old, it still retains the magic it did then.  ....Well what else can I say that hasn't already been said, watch this movie.
