Negima! Magister Negi Magi

Manga, can be some of the best stuff you'll experience, and it can be some of the worst too. Luckily for the west, there is a filter on witch manga and anime gets released outside of Japan. To those not familiar with this medium: Manga is, in a nutshell, comic books mainly produced in Japan that can range from superheros to romance to slice of life to comedies to the occasional weird oddity. Now, Negima! is several of these types. It starts as a harem manga with comedy thrown in, then slowly turns into an action/comedy. Serious when it needs to be and comedic at the appropriate moments. The harem manga type at the start of the story is manly thrown in for comedic effect, especially later in the story. The story has 32 main characters to keep track of and at points it will lose focus, mainly during large battles, and yet at other times it gains so much focus that one time I almost mistook the characters for real people. Negima! is about a ten year old wizard from England that gets assigned to teach at Japanese high school, in a most unusual all girl class. Negi has to deal with vampires, robots, demons, ogres, other wizards, dragons, and people as well as events from Negi's past to name just a few of the things you'll read about. I hope you will enjoy Negima! Magister Negi Magi as much as I do.
