When I first heard about the Friendship is Magic series I thought to my self, 'Oh, that's unusual.' Because having known the original show of My Little Pony and having seen 2-3 episodes of it, I was certain that I would never see that again. After a while the popularity of MLP:FIM grew and I continued to ignore it, but after I saw the all the fan art online and all of the community around the show, I gave in. I said to my self, "I'll give this show three episodes to impress me.", because I'm always willing to give a new show a try. I tell you, it only took one and I was hooked, because despite that the show was aimed at a young demographic, the producers didn't treat their audience like morons (like Blues Clues). It was intelligent, well written, and didn't have the "What-did-we-learn-today" format that was prevalent back in the 80s-90s shows. It felt like I was watching an episode of Spongebob Squarepants or Adventure Time. I had to see this voyage through, the ship had set sail and there was no turning back. As I entered the second liege of my voyage, the show begun to target all ages not just young girls and I became enthralled in the story even more. The show had begun to be episodic and have continuity. So don't dismiss it based on the pink colors and mostly female cast. Give it a try if you don't like it then you don't, if you do you'll like it. You don't have to go out and buy all the toys, I'm just asking you to give it a try, and maybe be a fan.
